Our Corporate Partners are the foundation of inMotion’s work
InMotion’s Corporate Partners are law firms and corporations that provide annual financial support of $15,000 or more. A partner or senior executive is selected to serve as the Corporate Partner representative. We work closely with our Corporate Partner representatives to tailor the firm’s or company’s participation in our program.
Financial support + programmatic involvement
While the financial contributions from our Corporate Partners is critical, we and our clients also benefit significantly from the in-kind support our Corporate Partners provide—legal volunteers primarily, but also other important forms of volunteer and in-kind resources.
Benefits for law firms
- Recruitment—An active pro bono program with a visible link to inMotion enhances the attractiveness of your law firm, especially to women and minority students at the schools where you recruit future talent. In this highly competitive recruiting environment, our Corporate Partners distinguish themselves by signaling that their work environment includes meaningful volunteer opportunities in areas that concern their lawyers and their clients.
|
| |
- Attorney development—InMotion meets annually with senior lawyers at Corporate Partner firms to discuss the firms’ pro bono goals and to ensure that the pro bono opportunities provided by inMotion give the firms’ litigators and non-litigators alike challenging opportunities to develop their professional skills at an early stage of their legal careers.
|
| |
- Mentoring and social work support—Hands-on mentoring (including document review) is provided on all cases by inMotion’s staff. Knowing that experienced backup is available at all times has enhanced the success rates as well as the personal satisfaction enjoyed by our volunteer lawyers.
We also provide social work services designed to help women and their families address practical safety, financial, emotional and mental health needs. This added support helps to ensure that our pro bono clients are able to participate more effectively in their legal cases. Volunteers are encouraged to refer any clients requiring this assistance to our bilingual social work team.

| |
- Summer associate program—Corporate Partners may participate in our highly successful summer associate program. Beginning in 2007, participation in this program is limited to our Corporate Partner firms only. Through the summer associate program, law students have the opportunity for both direct client contact and in-court experiences. Learn more.

| |
- Continuing legal education—Our training programs are CLE-accredited, with a special focus both on the impact of domestic violence on the lives of survivors and the challenges faced by immigrants. We work with our Corporate Partners to structure and conduct in-house trainings that are individually tailored to meet the needs of the organization. Learn more.
|
| |
- Client relationships—With increasing numbers of women in senior management positions, many corporate clients express a preference for working with law firms that recognize their community responsibilities and a commitment to issues affecting women and families. Membership as an inMotion Corporate Partner signals such a commitment to your clients.
|
| |
- Visibility—InMotion’s financial supporters receive maximum exposure in all materials that go out of our offices, including our letterhead, biannual newsletter, and spring Benefit invitation and brochure. Our newsletter is circulated to 6,000 business and legal professionals throughout and well-beyond New York City.
|
| |
- Responsible community presence—The impact of large institutions on their communities is scrutinized by a well-informed public. Support for inMotion shows that your firm takes seriously its responsibilities to address broader societal issues. Because inMotion provides community services at the local level, a Corporate Partner’s financial contribution demonstrates a commitment to the quality of life in the communities where it conducts business and where its employees live and work.
