Join a legal team
We encourage our attorney volunteers to involve legal assistants as members of legal teams working on inMotion cases. Assignments might include drafting documents, doing legal research and assisting with discovery.

Bilingual legal assistants are especially helpful with interpreting during client interviews and case preparation meetings. If you are fluent in a language other than English and familiar with one of the many immigrant communities in New York City, you can provide culturally sensitive assistance to women who cannot communicate their legal needs to inMotion staff or their attorneys in English. Spanish-fluency is particularly valuable, as more than 50% of our clients are Latina.

Walk-in clinics
Working under the supervision of our staff attorneys, legal assistants also help women in clinic settings. Clinic volunteers assist our legal staff by meeting and interviewing clients to learn more about their legal issues. Learn more.
