Scottish-born photographer Harry Benson arrived in America with the Beatles in 1964. His career as been intertwined with history-making individuals and events. In addition to photographing every U.S. president from Eisenhower to Obama, he was present at Bobby Kennedy’s assassination and Richard Nixon’s resignation. His work has been the subject of 40 gallery solo exhibitions, and 14 books of his photographs have been published, including his latest, New Yorkers. For his contributions to his field, Benson has received numerous “lifetime achievement” awards and was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2009.
