Public interest fellowships |
|
InMotion offers law firms the opportunity to establish public service fellowships for a limited number of summer associates. Fellows divide their summers, spending half the summer at the law firm and the other half at inMotion, in either our Manhattan or Bronx office. They are paid as regular summer associates by their firms.
Bilingual fellows
In selecting fellows, we prioritize students who are bilingual in English and Spanish or another language spoken by a significant population of immigrants in New York City.
| Under direct supervision of our experienced staff attorneys, fellows may contribute to a wide array of possible projects, including: |
- Conducting client intake and case assessment
|
- Providing brief services to pro se litigants, such as drafting responsive pleadings and motions for their on-going court cases
|
- Participating in walk-in clinics and educational outreach to community-based organizations throughout the City, jointly presenting with inMotion legal staff information on specific legal topics of interest to these groups
|
- Interpreting and translating for women who cannot adequately communicate to us or to the courts their legal needs
